DESCRIPTION | Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil solely from the manzanillacacereña variety from plantations registered for the GATA-HURDES DOP. Traditional dryland farming techniques.
REGION | North of the province of Cáceres. Districts of Sierra de Gata, Las Hurdes, Trasierra-Tierras de Granadilla, Valle del Jerte, Valle del Ambroz, part of the Valle del Alagón, and La Vera (Extremadura).
ALTITUDE | 600 – 700 metres above sea level.
PRODUCTION | Limited. Plantations registered for the GATA-HURDES PDO grown on the Natura 2000 Network of protected natural areas.
VARIETY | 100% manzanilla cacereña
METHOD OF HARVEST | Mainly by hand although umbrellas are used whenever possible to stop the olives hitting the ground.
HARVESTING PERIOD | From 15th October to 10th November.
Harvesting when the fruit starts to RIPEN
EXTRACTION SYSTEM | Produced cold from the first extraction immediately after harvesting the fruit. Crushed at a controlled speed.
STORAGE CONDITIONS | Keep in a dark place.
BEST BEFORE DATE | 18 months after date of bottling.
